Park Yoochun (last name, first name) is receiving high praise for his performance in the Korean drama SungKyunKwan Scandal where he plays a rather rigid, authoritarian scholar who tries his hardest to be an example for the wayward people around him.

According to translated report from Chosun Online, the chief producer for SKKS (Gwak Ki Won) called Yoochun hardworking and said his honest attitude and ability to focus was the reason he’s gotten such high praise. 

Gwak said, “Yoochun took this on with a hardworking, honest attitude and this led to him receiving a good assessment.  His ability to focus is so great, to the extent that I think it would be good if he could be a full-fledged actor.”

Meanwhile, the page featuring music samples of 3 songs from The Beginning album has tens of thousands of plays just since the page was created a few days ago.  Ayyy Girl (ft Kanye West) has over 100,000 plays, while Be My Girl and Empty have almost 90,000 plays each. 

In addition, over 200 pages worth of comments from fans (and a few trolls) from all over the world have been posted. This has got to be one of the most popular pages at Billboard.com. 

There are comments like “…when am I going to hear them [on] the radio??”, and “The Beginning is wonderful. I wish you come to Peru for a concert.” There are many, many more like that. 

On Oct 25, The Beginning topped the Hanteo Korean charts.  The Hanteo chart is known to be the largest database on record of Korean Music and provides real-time updates about sales. The special Billboard Magazine U.S. edition with JYJ on the cover has SOLD OUT its first printing!  Let’s hope for a second printing. But definitely this is good news.  I don’t know how often this has happened but certainly is a damn good sign. 🙂
